Chevrolet built Corvettes based on an early 1960s chassis design 1963 all the way through the 1982 model yearso The General decided to take a huge technological leap to create an all-new, all-modern Corvette for 1983. Unfortunately, that jump was only a little at forward, and production headaches meant the new Corvette didn’t appear until the 1984 model year. Here’s a magazine ad for that car.
