8 of the best electric restomods on the market

There are a few guaranteed ways to get those shrieks of “Sacrilege!” of car enthusiasts. For example, you could swap an engine from one brand for another, such as a Dodge Hellcat V8 in a Ford Mustang. That is not practical and to our knowledge no one has done so. What people have done, however, is the second best thing they’ve done and brought legendary classic cars to their workshops to give them electric powertrains. Once you get over the initial cringe factor, it can make a lot of sense. Crazy power can be unlocked for less cost than redesigning a chassis for an engine and transmission it was not designed for. When done right, a problematic old car can become a reliable daily driver. And since electric vehicles have become realistic again, there have been some interesting and wild electric conversions. These are our favourites.
