National Car Finder shared this helpful tip on Facebook to help people deal with the sweltering heat when boarding.
Most cars now have a recirculation button next to the air conditioner, but National Car Finder says many people don’t know how to use it.
It says, “Well, the easy answer is to use it in the summer and turn it off in the winter.
“The recirculation button just takes the air out of the car and recirculates it into the cabin instead of drawing in fresh air from outside. On days like today, when it’s miserably hot outside, if you don’t recirculate the cooler air in the cabin, then your AC system pulls warm air from outside and tries to cool it.
“Using the recirculation feature will make your car cooler and reduce the wear and tear on your AC system.
Side note, if your car has been in the sun, it’s better to roll down the windows and turn the first minute or so to turn off the recirculation to get rid of the super hot air in the car before turning on the recirculation turn on. Thank us later.”
