Basingstoke group organizes 'peaceful' car rally in pub to fight anti-social car rallies in Hampshire

A GROUP of car enthusiasts in and around Basingstoke held a car rally on Saturday night in an effort to show how to organize a car gathering that spreads good vibes and positive energy.

The group led by Elliot Ward and Scott Martin of the YouTube channel Flat Out Media hosted the meeting via Instagram and YouTube and then at The Beach Arms Stonehouse pub in Oakley.

Organizers said they wanted to promote well-groomed and well-organized static car rallies because of the negativity surrounding anti-social car rallies in Basingstoke.

Numerous anti-social car rallies have been held in Hampshire this year, which upset residents, saw police call and car parks to install CCTV footage.

The meet – dubbed Pimms Pints ​​and Pizza – saw 30 cars, including two Lamborghini Aventadors, a Lamborghini Huracan, Nissan Skyline GT-R, BMW M2s, M3s and an M4, a Supercharged Mustang, and Porsches came down to join. to do.

Scott said: “We contacted Pauline, the pub’s branch manager and made a reservation for the car meeting. They set up a buffet with pizzas, chicken wings, wedges and nachos.

“Everything was organized as you would expect. There was no antisocial behavior and no one complained. The audience joined in and there was a positive vibe everywhere.”

“The locals who frequented the pub on a daily basis also got involved, they also enjoyed themselves even though they were not part of the event. They felt involved and that was good.

“It was good to show a positive view of the automotive community and show that we love cars and don’t want to be a burden or a nuisance target when we schedule a static gathering. Good food, good cars, good atmosphere and positive vibes were all on the agenda of our event.”

After the success of this meeting, they now plan to organize more such car gatherings.
