The Geometry C electric car model, manufactured by Chinese automaker Geely Auto Group, is the top-selling electric vehicle in Israel in its first five months, according to figures released Monday by Israel’s Ministry of Transport.
Sales of the Chinese compact crossover model have reached 1,604 units in Israel since the beginning of the year, surpassing US electric carmaker Tesla’s Model 3, with 1,452 units sold in the same period, the figures show.
Third in the list in Israel is South Korean automaker Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 model with 1,053 cars, followed by the Seres 3 model, manufactured by China’s DFSK Motor, with 414 cars.
The data only includes cars that have gone through a full registration process and handed over to the customers. Orders for the Chinese model are much higher, reaching more than 8,000 from its launch in November 2021 to the end of April, according to Geely Israel.
In May, 485 Geometry C cars were handed over to customers in Israel.
