One of two men charged in a fatal shooting of a 31-year-old New York City man earlier this month at Eagle Rock Reservation was the victim’s “alleged best friend” according to an indictment.
Michael Verdel, 71, lived in the same apartment block on the 500 block of East 167th Street as Kelsey Steels, who was shot in the head in West Orange on March 4, authorities said.
In the affidavit of probable cause, Verdel also claims that a third man may have participated in the fatal shooting
