Electric car subsidies could return when government thinks it 'works best' and helps switch from electric cars

Current subsidies range from up to £500 for an electric motorcycle to £25,000 for a large truck over 12 tonnes.

Mr Rasmussen continued: “In Denmark we are known for this 150 percent tax on top of ICE cars, but it is zero percent for EVs.

“They tried to increase the tax on electric vehicles year after year. They said we will increase it to 50 percent one year and increase it every year.

“Every time they try this, EV sales drop and they find out they can’t and after three months they roll it back.
