The Good Neighbor Society in Manchester is raising money for a new vehicle for their campus.
Leticia Timmerman, recreation director at The Meadows, says they want to make sure their residents and renters stay close to their communities — and this new vehicle will help them do that.
The new vehicle they just bought is a Sprinter Van – and it will be equipped with seats, wheelchair accessibility, an elevator and modified floors. When completed, the van can accommodate up to 14 passengers and two wheelchairs.
Katie Edgington, director of The Meadows, says that in order to make this happen for the residents and tenants of the Good Neighbor Society, they had to do some fundraising – and community support is getting them close to their goal.
If you’d like to donate to the Good Neighbor Society’s new passenger bus, you can send or drop your donations – or you can donate online at goodneighboursociety.org.
The van is expected to be ready in a few weeks — and they hope to do a few more day trips this fall.
