“The easy answer is the Cadillac Ciel, but it never had a chance at production.
“I’m going for the Holden Coupe 60 concept instead – which would have been the next generation – Monaro (or Pontiac ‘GTO’, if you will).
“The platform was there and done, the design was concept-y but not far from manufacturable (the car actually drove) – it was a beautiful coupé with no pillars.
“Instead, the bean counters decided there was no market in America for either this or its brother on the Zeta platform, the Camaro (probably correct) and the Australians got — – nothing.
“(Actually we got some sick people and went to Deniliquin to do circle work and pack a sheila maaaaate)”
This is an excellent answer to the question ‘what would an Australian muscle car look like?’ I would buy one, would you?
