One of the biggest sporting events in the world is about to land in Miami, the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix Bee Hard Rock Stadium on May 6-8, 2022. Added to that are plenty of world-class dinners, events, festivals, concerts and more, and here’s a roundup of the best options.

Dine with extravagant meals

For those short on cash, this will surely be the weekend to feast on some over-the-top dining experiences. There are still a few tickets left for the much-discussed Carbone Beach pop-up, which will run from May 6-8, and will raise a whopping $3,000 per person. The seated meal, prepared on the sands of Miami Beach by Mario Carbone himself, will also include a lavish happy hour and “incredible surprise performances each evening.” Legendary Italian butcher on the mainland Dario Cecchini of Carna will host pop up at the SLS Brickell with Chef Victor Rosado on May 6, featuring a tasting menu that includes wine and cocktail pairings, along with a live grill demo by Cecchini for $299 per person. After the race on Sunday, May 7, celebrity favorite in Downtown Miami Zuma will be throw an afterparty with a four-hour open bar, appetizers, DJ, and fireworks for $305 per person.

Racing enthusiasts should go to the free Racing Fan Fest Miami 2022 Wynwood taking over from May 5-8. Driven by US Weekly, Red Bull and event producers SWARM, the massive event will feature a Red Bull fan zone, VR racing simulators, car photo ops, merchandise shops, nightclub pop-ups, kid’s zones and more. On Miami Beach, FTX will take over nearly three full blocks of a massive 165,000-square-foot beachfront extension into an all-immersive three-day activation called “Electric Beach” FTX off the grid† The event is free to the public during the day and ticketed performances at night. The event hosts a range of immersive experiences, guest appearances, interactive games, fashion shows, ‘surprise’ entertainment, a wide variety of curated food and drinks, and even a chance to create your own NFT.

Didn’t get a ticket for the race? There are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy the excitement of the day at various viewing parties throughout the city. The founders and ambassadors of Dos Hombres Mezcal will pour their mezcal in the Magic City ahead of the Formula 1 races. The tour begins with a book signing at a Gopuff location (584 NW 27th Street) from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a party at Duffy’s Sports Grill in North Miami from 3 pm to 6 pm, a performance at The Cocktail Shack at SLS South Beach from 4pm, and then they take their talents to Wynwood newcomer Bottled Blonde at 6.30 pm Now let’s hope the duo will take a helicopter to make all those performances in time.
