BRITINE’s best cars according to the people who actually bought them have been revealed.
The latest annual survey shows that everyone is saying the same thing: cars from the Far East are the easiest to live with.
The annual Driver Power poll found that Kia had three cars in the top 10, with Mazda, Hyundai, Honda and Toyota as well.
The Kias in question are the XCeed SUV that took first place, the Rio small car that came in third and the Sportage family SUV that came in sixth.
The Mazda CX-5 family SUV came in second, the Hyundai Kona small SUV came in fourth, the Honda CR-V family SUV came in seventh and the Toyota CH-R small SUV came in eighth.
Other notable entries include the SUVs of the Skoda Kodiaq and Seat Ateca family, which placed fifth and tenth respectively.
For the first time, an EV was in the top 10, with the wildly popular Tesla Model 3 in ninth.
Auto Express who published the full results today, said: ‘Driver Power provides the most comprehensive insight into drivers’ long-term experience with their car, with up to 60,000 people assessing ten key aspects of ownership ranging from performance and comfort to practicality, safety and running . cost.
“In addition to providing an essential independent benchmark for car buyers, car manufacturers are also using the insights to refine their cars and identify areas for improvement.”

Editor-in-Chief Steve Fowler said: “It’s clear that Far Eastern manufacturers like Kia are expanding their appeal for European liveries in terms of the long-term ownership experience, while the appearance of an EV in the top ten for the first time is another sign that electric cars are becoming a force to be reckoned with.
“However, despite the dominance of the overall top ten by Far Eastern brands, a number of European names continue to win in the premium car segments, with notable performances from Volvo, Jaguar and Mercedes.”
The full list of 75 cars reviewed will be published in today’s Auto Express magazine and on its website.
