These are the best features of the 2022 Maserati Quattroporte

2022 Maserati Quattroporte

It is rare for a sports car manufacturer to make a practical four-door vehicle that can accommodate all its passengers with the utmost comfort. Most performance cars in the world have a coupe body or are just an SUV with an insane amount of power under the hood. The segment of high-performance luxury sedans therefore seems to be getting smaller and smaller. Maserati addressed this problem with the launch of the new 2022 Quattroporte. The Italian automaker first introduced the Quattroporte in 1963 as a luxury performance sedan, and since then it has come a long way in four-door car production. However, the Quattroporte remains the pinnacle of luxury and performance in the company’s massive lineup to date.

For 2022, the vehicle retains its old-fashioned heritage and has added many modern technology and driving aids. With a long list of safety features, Maserati also offers several powertrain and engine options.

The best feature of the 2022 Maserati Quattroporte: a race-bred luxury sedan

The front of the 2022 Maserati Quattroporte looks sinister, especially in the black color. This happens to be one of the few cars in which the body lines are clearly visible, regardless of color. The front headlights are LED projectors in which the daytime running lights are neatly integrated. The grille at the front is typical Maserati and follows the design language of the company. The front bumper also has a 360-degree camera and a parking sensor. On the side, the automaker offers two-tone, 10-spoke 21-inch wheels as standard. The red brake calipers are a nice contrast to the overall wheels. The signature Maserati design element is the three-hole ventilation on the fender, which adds a touch of chrome to the styling. Full LED taillights adorn the car towards the rear, and it even gets a sporty quad exhaust setup. A chrome strip runs the length of the boot lid and adds a touch of class

A plethora of drivetrains provide snappy response

The 2022 Maserati Quattroporte is available in three main trim levels: GT, Modena and Trofeo. All these finishes get different engine options and styling tweaks. The GT trim, a Grand Tourer, is more focused on luxury and effortless performance. It is powered by a V6 engine that produces 345 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This model can reach a top speed of 166 MPH. Above the GT sits the Modena, which also uses a V6 engine. However, the automaker has increased power to 424 horsepower with 428 lb-ft of torque. The top speed is increased to 179 MPH and it can make the sprint from 0-60 MPH in 5 seconds. The Modena also comes with a four-wheel drive powertrain called the Modena Q4, and acceleration is slightly better, as the sprint from 0 to 60 MPH takes 4.8 seconds. The top-of-the-line version is the Quattroporte Trofeo, which uses a fire-breathing V8 and is rated at 580 horsepower with 538 lb-ft of torque. The Trofeo has a top speed of 203 MPH and reaches the sprint from 0-60 MPH in just 4.2 seconds. All of the above engines use an 8-speed automatic transmission. However, only the Modena Q4 uses a four-wheel drive setup, while the rest have a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. Speaking of fuel efficiency, the V6 engine happens to be the most fuel efficient as it has a fuel economy of 17 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. Opt for the four-wheel drive layout will lower efficiency figures by a small marginand the V8 would reduce this considerably.

Safety was a top priority

according to Maserati, safety was one of the top priorities when designing the redesigned Quattroporte. So it comes with copious safety kits as standard, unlike most of its competitors. The most notable standard safety features are autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection. Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and semi-autonomous driving are offered as standard in all trim levels. The list of safety features goes even further with ISOFIX child seat mountings and parking sensors at the front and rear of the vehicle. The braking system does a great job of losing speed quickly and gives the driver a confident feeling when cornering.

All in all, the Maserati Quattroporte 2022 is an excellent vehicle with many sporty features. The company has a tradition of making excellent sports cars, and the Quattroporte is one of them with the practical four doors and a spacious cabin. The styling is an eye-catcher and the thumping exhaust note adds to the mix.
