Bentayga EWB Azure

There has been no replacement for a flagship Bentley since we said goodbye to the Bentley Mulsanne in 2020. In 2022, the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is the answer. Bentley has finally launched its all-new Bentayga EWB SUV. After a wave of revelations on social media in recent days. They have introduced a fifth model and a new flagship to the brand’s line-up, with more legroom in the rear. In addition, it is 7 centimeters longer than the current Bentayga. Most of the stretch is found on the rear doors and the rear cab benefits. It is claimed to provide the best seating expertise in the company’s vehicles.

However, Bentley is not looking for the speed crown. With the introduction of the Bentayga EWB, the company has set a new standard for elegance. The Bentayga is now a more functional car that can comfortably accommodate a family. It not only offers more legroom, but also smarter and more comfortable sitting. All this while maintaining the standard driving qualities of the Bentayga. Let’s see what’s new about this opulent SUV.

Bentayga’s extended wheelbase and powertrain

With the Extended Wheelbase, Bentley has improved the rear seat experience for the Bentayga. The Bentayga EWB has a length of 209 inches and a wheelbase of 125 inches. While the overall design is unchanged from the regular model, the extension is visible all the way around the back door. To set it apart, it features a redesigned grille with vertical louvers, 22-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels and a relocated panoramic sunroof. This has resulted in a seven-inch wheelbase that offers more legroom for the rear passengers. Despite the extra space, there is no option for a third row of seats as in the normal Bentayga. Passengers in the second row, on the other hand, have more flexibility. The legroom is comparable to that of a full-fledged car.

A 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine powers the Bentley Bentayga EWB. Equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends 550 hp and 770 Nm of torque to all four wheels. Bentayga EWB can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds until it reaches its top speed at 180 mph, according to Bentley. The suspension upgrades are based on Bentley’s Dynamic Ride. Using the Dynamic ride, Bentley claims to have improved ride comfort and quietness by up to 27% over its competitors.

Bentayga EWB: the best seat in the house

According to Bentley, the new Airline Seat package is by far the most modern rear seat ever fitted to a car. The rear seats are electrically adjustable in 22 directions, as well as automatic climate control. This function adjusts airflow and climate control based on body temperature and posture adjustment.

In ‘Relax’ mode, the rear seats can be fully reclined up to 40 degrees, and a leather-wrapped footrest extends from the back of the front passenger seat. Switching to ‘Business’ mode elevates the seat for greater efficiency while traveling. By monitoring the pressure of the seat. These chairs are automatically micro-adjusted to the sitting position and pressure points. Over the course of three hours, it helps 177 individual pressure changes across six independent pressure systems. Bentley claims this will help improve comfort and reduce fatigue.

The front passenger seat has been moved forward for more legroom in the VIP configuration. And the rear seat can recline up to 40 degrees. Cushion and backrest reinforcement adjustments, cushion extension, headrest increase and the fold-out footrest are all offered on this trim. While all this is going on, users can enjoy the heated rear door and center armrests so their elbows never get cold.

In the Bentayga EWB, Bentley offers three seating options. There is a basic five-seat configuration and an additional deluxe four-seat configuration. The first seat option adds two separate seats to the second row, similar to the Four Seat Comfort specification. The third option, the new ‘4+1’ arrangement, includes two separate outer rear seats and an ‘occasional center seat’. According to the company, this configuration is suitable for a third adult.

Bentley Diamond Illumination is also available as an option. This lighting allows the light to shine through small openings in the leather-covered door panels. We can also change the inside of the Bentley Bentayga in 24 billion ways. Bentley says:, this makes each experience distinctive for its users. This setup has 12 LEDs in the front doors, while the rear doors have 22 LEDs each. And there are new “waterfall lighting” LEDs that help to gently illuminate the rear compartment. The hue and intensity of the LEDs can be adjusted and changed via the Touch Screen controller and the infotainment system.
